OK I came in this morning to finish off the patch on the fender. I first put some bondo on the fiberglass patch that I placed last night. As I was letting that dry I sand blasted the fender well again or attempted to. Keep in mind I got my sand blaster from Harbor Freight tools. Although the sandblaster works as with everything they sell it is cheap and not just as in price. The sandblaster kept clogging up on me but maybe that was because I reused the sand that was already on the floor. Who knows I just know it was a little frustrating but hey gotta save money some where. So needless to say the sandblasting I was doing didn't get too far yet again. I pulled off the old rubber strip on the inside as it was pretty much dry rotted. This rubber strip was stapled onto the body. I don't know what kind of staple gun they used in the assembly plant but one that goes through metal is pretty impressive. After I got done playing with that I went back to sand on the patch area on the rear of the fender. I got it mostly sanded down to the right contour but it still needs a little more sanding and shaping. Hopefully the sandblaster works for me next time so I can get the fender well done so I can prime this area.
